Technology Introduced on Capitol Hill and Fox
5 TV to Prevent Cheating in Online Gaming
May 30, 2001 -- Washington DC
Washington, DC based Quixotic Solutions,
Inc., (QSI), affiliate of IT GlobalSecure Inc.,
announced today that QSI’s Steven Davis, the
company’s CEO, and QSI President, Cheryl
Campbell were on Capitol Hill May 15, 2001 to
showcase its patented technology that radically
reduces or eliminates most forms online
cheating, promotes fair play and enables
consumers to participate in a safe and regulated
online gaming environment. This event was
covered by representatives of the news media and
a segment was aired on FOX News, Channel 5.
“What we have actually done is taken
something complicated and made it simple,”
explained QSI CEO Steven B. Davis. “We have
created a way to fairly shuffle cards over a
network between a game server and a player even
if they are thousands of miles apart. It can
work over wireless, Internet, or other network
backbones. We combined that element with
well-known security technologies, like digital
signatures, that allows the creation of a new
kind of electronic contract that can be used to
protect the consumer. Players, regulators and
game providers have the ability to monitor and
independently reconstruct any game.”
“We heard the complaints that there was no
way to protect the consumer. In fact, many
people have said that you could not even detect
if a game was rigged or played unfairly on the
Internet,” said QSI President Cheryl Campbell.
“With our Honest Gaming Software, it is possible
to secure the game itself. Every event in that
game, whether it’s a roll of the dice, the play
of a card or the spin of a wheel can be
determined if it is fair and honestly played.”
Davis added: “What our technology does is
give the player the ability to independently
verify, reconstruct and prove that the game was
played fairly. And if there are any problems,
consumers can take the reconstructed game to a
legal or financial authority to seek proper
restitution.” Legislation continues on The Hill
calling for a ban on Internet gambling in
response to consumer complaints about fraud and
game manipulation in the online gaming
environment. Internet gaming is currently
unregulated. QSI’s Honest Gaming Software, which
utilizes patented game protocol and various
cryptographic functionalities, provides a
framework for regulated gaming and can help
address other legislative concerns including
access controls and gambling restrictions. The
technology creates a safe environment for
consumers and promotes the development of a
national policy where sensible regulation can be
effectively implemented. “We believe that this
software forms a foundation that will set a
national and international standard for online
gaming regulation,” Campbell said. QSI’s
affiliated company, IT GlobalSecure uses
security as an enabler for its clients’ business
growth. The company is founded on the principle
that by adding privacy, trust and transaction
reliability to business operations, customers in
both vertical and emerging regional markets will
experience value-added growth heretofore unseen
in the security field. Both companies share the
same management team under co-founders Steve
Davis, CEO, and Cheryl Campbell, President.
